Job description
SUMMARY
Maintain, install and troubleshoot control circuits and equipment associated with power generation (nuclear power). Maintenance includes routing calibration of level, pressures, temperatures, and flow systems. Installation of instrumentation ranges from end-of-life replacements to design changes.
EDUCATION
High School/GED or equivalent (Required).
Associates degree in related instrumentation and control field (science, mathematics, or instrumentation technology) (Preferred)
Without a degree, relevant experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
Tech Instrument Control (Journeyman) – minimum of 3 years in the Tech I&C Training Program, On the Job Training, or similar plant experience. (Required).
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Texas Driver’s license (Required)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL TECHNICAL DUTIES:
Uses tools, training and experience to maintain instrumentation and control equipment within plant and industry guidelines.
Reads and interprets electrical drawings and schematics.
Calibrates and tests plant equipment, conducts pre-operational test, troubleshoots and reworks system, analyzes and interprets test results and data.
Reviews work package procedures, drawings and vendor manuals for accuracy and completeness.
Use and interpret a Digital Multi Meter (DMM)
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Accept ERO position as needed.
Accept outage position as needed.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to interpret and troubleshoot CCTV system and fiber optics.
Ability to obtain/maintain task certifications and advanced certifications for IC maintenance.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up 50+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week.
Travel may be required.
May be required to carry a phone.
Working environment consists of both outside and inside work, in both extreme heat and cold, in radiological areas, and in confined space.
WORK LOCATION
Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site
