Job description
ENERCON Services, doing business for the Federal Government through our wholly owned subsidiary, ENERCON Federal Services (EFS), provides engineering and environmental services to many branches of the Federal Government. With extensive experience in engineering design, nuclear safety, decommissioning and environmental services, we are actively supporting large and small projects throughout the DOE complex. EFS also has current experience supporting operations and decommissioning efforts at US Army Corps of Engineers and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical I&C Engineer (part-time) to represent ENERCON at a client site in Oak Ridge, TN. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance (US Citizenship Required).


Provide instrumentation/controls engineering design for Y-12 Projects Engineering to include the following:

Provide design for conduit/cables schedules, conduit/equipment plans, one-line diagrams, wiring/connection/schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, various sections/elevations/details, datasheets, construction specifications, etc.
Collaborate with EE/I&C design engineers and CADD drafters to ensure the required information is shown on each drawing.
Review designs by other disciplines and vendors to supplement the I&C design.
Perform field walk downs of the proposed project construction site if required.
Provide input to project estimates.
The position is planned as part-time (approx. ¾-time), however, project deliverables may require some weeks be full-time (4/10 schedule Mon.-Thur.).

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or electrical/computer engineering), or an MS with 20 or more year’s experience in the application of instrumentation to control industrial process is desired. Requires a strong working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers/Human Machine Interface Software and microprocessor-controlled equipment. Good written and oral communication and excellent human relation skills are required. A strong understanding of the application of national codes and standards related to instrumentation systems, primarily the International Society of Automation (ISA) and National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) is required.

Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment drug/ alcohol and background check.
