Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Mechanical Engineer opportunity for our customer in Richland, WA for the Hanford Site.

Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

2704HV / 200E


•        Provides technical direction to assigned engineers. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Has extensive experience in general engineering. Specific task may include;
•        Supports field work package preparation, calculation and drawing reviews, troubleshooting equipment and design development.
•        Supports the preparation, and compilation of the AX Test Requirements Matrix, as well as other readiness activities, as requested.


Required Qualifications/Skills

Requires minimum BS degree in Engineering discipline PLUS 15 or more years engineering experience in the field of their expertise, including a minimum of two years’ experience at a nuclear facility or Navy Nuclear power.

Desired Qualifications/Skills

•        Tank Farm experience with the development of work packages, line crossing analyses, route maps, and lift plans.
•        Previous experience working under NQA-1 program desired
•        Project Engineer Qualification Card.
•        Ability to bring together a multi-disciplined team to resolve engineering, design, construction procurement and startup issues.
•        Familiar and experienced in project activities, with emphasis in commissioning and facility operations.


Hanford General Employee Training (HGET) to be provided.

Hanford personnel at the Hanford Site work a standard 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday.

Work performed outside normal operating hours shall be coordinated and approved by the Level 1 Manager prior to performing the work.
