Davis Bessie Nuclear Power Plant

The Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station on the shore of Lake Erie near Port Clinton, Ohio, is shown in this undated file photo. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has cited FirstEnergy Corp. for providing false information about paint inside the reactor building at its Davis-Besse nuclear plant six years ago. The federal agency determined Davis-Besse officials incorrectly reported in 1998 that the paint was safe and unlikely to come off in the event of an accident.
