$35,590-$75,240 annually

With the exception of the Navy is it possible to be a full time RO and only make 35k a year?

I don't think so.  Looking at their ranges they either got bum information or just didn't believe the actual wages so they made up their own much lower than reality.

Yah agree with NasCar.  Way on the low baller.  But bright side there is hope for us (who are patiently waiting) yet to get into power.

Nuclear salaries from a recent Clean And Safe Energy Coalition report:

Plant engineer
Plans and coordinates programs and
medium- or large-scale engineering
projects, while acting as a technical
specialist for a specific engineering field.
Duties include carrying out advanced
engineering and technical tasks, and
performing independent research,
reviews, studies and analyses in support
of technical projects. The median salary is $82,900.

Mechanical technician
Performs preventive, corrective and
special maintenance on systems,
components and structural facilities to
ensure the reliability of a nuclear power
plant. The median salary is $66,581.

Electrical technician
Maintains and repairs highly complex
electrical/electronic equipment required
for a nuclear plant. Responsibilities
include troubleshooting, testing and
inspecting equipment. The median
salary is $67,517.

Instrumentation & control technician
Calibrates, tests, troubleshoots, reworks,
modifies and inspects nuclear plant
instrumentation and control components
and systems. The median salary is $72,238.

Chemistry technician
Measures and records plant chemistry and
radioactivity levels, and operates chemical
and radiochemical instrumentation and
equipment. The median salary is $70,990.

Radiation protection technician
Measures and records radiation levels
to ensure they are within low federal
limits. In addition, they service and
calibrate radiation protection instruments
and equipment. They play a vital role in
ensuring the safety of employees working
in radiation areas as well as the facility’s
compliance with radiation requirements.
The median salary is $69,056.

Non-licensed operator
Supports the reactor operators and senior
reactor operators. Duties include opening and
closing valves, electrical breakers and other
devices as well as directly monitoring plant
equipment performance. Operators work
in shifts. The median salary is $70,793.

Reactor operator
Operates reactor controls in cooperation
with the control room team. The reactor operator
moves control rods, starts and stops equipment,
implements operations procedures, conducts
surveillance tests and records plant data.
The median salary is $77,782.

Senior reactor operator
Operates a nuclear power plant in
accordance with all federal regulations.
Duties include operating the mechanical,
electrical and reactor systems from the
plant control room in a safe and efficient
manner to ensure maximum electrical
generation in compliance with regulations.
The median salary is $85,426.

These look like they would have been accurate in 2006 for base. But I don't know anyone making base in any of these positions except engineers. Cha-ching!!
