Many thanks to all who have replied.  I would certainly never consider wearing anything other than a suit and tie to an interview...my concern was based more on what the ramifications would be once I had a job.  That time though, is quite some time away, for I am still sitting around waiting to leave for boot camp.  Yet, I figured it was good to have the proper information before it was too late.

And I completely agree about the "freaks"... I certainly have an appreciation for body art, being that I am tattooed and formerly pierced, but some people take it waaaaaay too far.  However, the ones that truly turn it into a lifestyle certainly get recognized, which I would imagine was part, if not all, of the reason they did it in the first place.

As many have said, first impressions are important.  No one is going to tell you that you didn't get the job because of your tatoos, or that you got fired for them.  However, that may be the actual reason.  All you'll hear is that you didn't meet the requirements for the position.  A door quietly closed is still a closed door.
