Easiest thing to do is go to  http://www.xe.com/ucc/ and select the currencies you want, plug in the amounts and they'll figure it for you.

It's hard to do because they change the prices several times per day.  There are enormous differences between the price on Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon for example.

At the current exchange rate, multiply the price in $Cad/litre by 3.56 to get the price in $US/Us gal.
So, if the sign says $1.00/litre, that is equivalent to $3.56/gallon.

Try this out SloGlo:

(CDN/L) x (3.784L/gal) x (EXusd/CDN)

where: CDN = Canadian Dollars
EXusd = the day's exchange rate for US Dollars to CDN

a little off but heres a good note for travelers outside of the US....depending on your banks policies and if they may or may not put a surcharge on it typically its cheaper to use your bank card everywhere.  Money changers will typically change your money at the highest rate then keep the few cent difference, with your bank you will get the current rate with no hikes or extra fees.  Amsouth bank now regions is who I had when in england and I found that the exchange rate I received from them was up to 15 cents cheaper than if I had gone somewhere to have it exchanged with no fees on top of it.
