Need some input
« on: Sep 04, 2009, 01:57 »
I'm thinking of going nuke, go to meps in two weeks, something my recruiter suggested after my asvab pre-test.  I'm done a lot of research, but I can't seem to find the answer to two of my questions.  Can someone please explain the difference between an ET and EM ratings.  How much free time do you get on average after you graduate training.

I've been at NNPTC for almost a month. What you get as your rate is determined by:

1. the needs of the Navy
2. Nuke test
3. ASVAB score
4. What you picked as the first option.

I got an 80 on my ASVAB but i was 9 points off from a perfect score on the Nuke test. I got what I wanted(ET). Some of the recruits that were in my division got high ASVAB scores but low Nuke test score. They got their 2nd choice. They also have to meet a certain quota. They need a whole lot of MM's some EM's and almost no ET's. It's like you can't have "a bunch of chief's and no indians" (if that makes sense to u).
