They aren't airline techs. They were Air Traffic Controllers, quite a different animal.

I know at my old plant we'd get all sorts of OE from the airline industry and YES they're SCARY!

Then those would be Engineers not Technicians...right?    ;)

Mike, if you thought the OE from the airline industry was scary, you would be frightened silly by the people we hired from an unnamed major airline that has Detroit and Minneapolis as hubs, and was just bought by another major airline that uses a Greek letter for its name.

Luckily, we were able to send one of them to the nuclear waste dumping ground that fossil generation has become, but the other one is still hanging on, still acting as a precursor to a major incident.

Next stop. Classroom instructor, full time. I don't really want to do anything except teach.

I would be a great plant manager though.
