Greenpeace loses charity status in New Zealand
« on: May 10, 2011, 02:07 »
This is New Zealand but maybe this organization that has been taken over by ideologues will get a taste of the same here in the US. One of the original founders of Greenpeace left the organization because of them and is now pro nuclear.

One could only hope.

Greenpeace New Zealand's political activities mean it cannot register as a charity, the High Court has decided.

Greenpeace appealed against a 2010 ruling by the Charities Commission which found its promotion of "disarmament and peace" was political rather than educational and while it did not directly advocate illegal acts, Greenpeace members had acted illegally.

In his judgment Justice Paul Heath found the commission was correct in its judgment and turned down the Greenpeace appeal.

"Non-violent, but potentially illegal activities (such as trespass), designed to put (in the eyes of Greenpeace) objectionable activities into the public spotlight were an independent object disqualifying it from registration as a charitable entity," the judge said.

Oh for pete's sake......

Past participle error and lack of apostrophe. Noted.

My point was that Ph.D holders in Greenpeace can't be bothered to spell words correctly.

Words from Dr. Rianne Teule to myself

"i agree that renewable energy sources cannot provide enough electricity for Americans if they continue to waste power like they are doing now wich is why they/we should invest as much as posible in efficient use of energy. But lets not get into a debate on clean energy sources, that is not why you contacted me.
"i apologiez"
"these is kind of statements"

etc, etc.

At least she capatilized "Americans"

I know what your point was. People who are supposed to be intelligent should be careful enough with their spelling and grammar to avoid looking like morons.

That was (and has been) my point, too.  [OT]
