Jaczko, a former aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who is Yucca's leading opponent, has made a series of decisions that have aided the Obama administration's goal of shutting down Yucca Mountain. Hopefully we have a President who nominates someone a little more qualified next time....The appointment of Dr. Steven Chu for DOE Secretary is a good indicator.
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), the committee's chairwoman, issued a statement this weekend slamming the commissioners for their "do nothing" culture and said they should be thanking Jaczko for his leadership instead of criticizing him.
