I told my recruiter beforehand I wanted to put a late payment I made down on my security clearance.  He said don't worry about it, that I was already accepted.  I said alright whatever, so I went up to MEPS figuring that when I had to sign my clearance I'd tell them about it before signing it.  I enlisted, but never signed my clearance or even saw it while I was at MEPS.  There was one sheet a guy put in front of me and made me sign on an electronic pad for it.  I don't know if this happens to everyone but it seemed kind of strange to me.  Also, I wanted the student loan repayment, they said I would have to do all that with my recruiter after I signed up.

Basically, how do I make sure that A) that late payment is on my security clearance .. and B)  I'm going to get the loan repayment instead of the GI Bill/Bonus

I really don't care if either of those get me discharged from the DEP at this point, I want to do things the right way, regardless of having to wait a lot longer to go in or not go in at all.  I know that would be a lot better than getting a discharge once I'm in cause of this stuff. I don't know if my recruiter is out of his mind or not but there's no way in hell i'm going to boot camp without that LRP in writing and the packet changed.

For starters, the late payment is ALREADY on your clearance (you think they just take what you give them? lol, they will have done an in depth credit report on you).  You also don't choose "loan repayment" OR "Gi bill". Loan repayment was a perk of joining with college credits in lieu of an enlistment bonus. It does NOT affect your gi bill.

Also, dont be foolish. He who looks for trouble usually finds it. Listen to your recruiter in this circumstance.
