Hi, I am looking to get into the nuclear industry and I am wondering what courses/training I may need.I have always had interest in nuclear power generation since high school when I took nuclear physics and we studied the basics of reactors and how various types work.I would be looking for a position in day to day maintenance or outage work as I have many various mechanical and electronic/electrical skills.I currently work on consumer and industrial electronics, component and board level troubleshooting but have experience in electrical,HVAC,automotive and plumbing and some basic gas/arc welding skills.I specialize in troubleshooting and repairing FRU's (field replaceable units) and repairing power supplies and can read and interpret schematics and mechanical diagrams.I feel I wouldn't have any problems passing a background check and getting a security clearance as I have been arrested only once for assault 6 years ago and the charge was dropped by the state due to the supposed "victim" lied to have me arrested and I have proof of this from the state attorney.I have no other arrests or serious traffic violations or DUI's nor have I been accused of any crimes of mis-trust or theft.I would be willing to re-locate if needed and willing to complete training and courses to obtain certifications prior to applying, I am just not sure where to start.
