Another Midwestern utility has shelved plans for an extended power uprate, this time at the Cooper nuclear plant between Omaha, Neb., and Kansas City, Mo.http://nuclearstreet.com/nuclear_power_industry_news/b/nuclear_power_news/archive/2013/08/12/nppd-decides-against-uprate-for-cooper-nuclear-plant-081302.aspx#.UgjsE-co60kMore info here: http://www.world-nuclear-news.org/C-NPPD_decides_against_Cooper_uprate-1208134.html
I love watching a utility blame the competition! Cooper is an Entergy managed plant and they are still reeling from cost overruns from Grand gulf's uprate! I don't blame them for being scared!
