No effort to substantiate why this "compromises the safety of the region."
The TX governor wrote on Twitter that he wouldn’t let Texas become “the radioactive waste dumping ground of America.”
Since this a competitor site of WCS, I would think they're putting up some fight to block Holtec's entry into the waste storage market.  WCS has a lot of political leverage.
