New Nuclear Industry PodCast
« on: Mar 29, 2006, 11:01 »
Hi Folks,

I thought y'all might be interested in listening to my new weekly PodCast (Internet Radio Show).  It's called "This Week in Nuclear" and it's my humble attempt to counter all the negative stuff we hear in the mainstream media.  I also hope to attract the next generation into careers in the industry.

This is not a commercial enterprise, I'm just trying to make a difference, one listener at a time.  So far I have about 700 subscribers.

You can check out the show at http://jkwheeler.podomatic.com . It's also carried by iTunes, Yahoo! Music, and several other podcast directories.

I'd love your feedback on how I can make the show better, and am always interested in news tips or suggestions on topics I should cover.

John

John,

I may be mistaken, but I believe the picture of Diablo Canyon (one of my personal favorites) you use at the top of your site is copywrited by Jim Zimmerman, and he does not take kindly to people using his photo's without permission and due credit/payment.  He generaly is content with a $50 payment for usage if his images.

I visited your site and think what you are doing is great.  I might even add your RSS feed to our Nuclear News tab.  (I can't see a reason why not to.)

Thanks for the info on the image.  I don't remember where I got it, and don't call there being a copyright mark on it, and I certainly would not knowlingly use protected material without permission.  I will attempt to contact Jim about it.

I made a couple alternate banners for you, they are attached to this post, I tried to email them to you, but it got bounced by podcast.

That plain lime green text just dosent do it for me, your site colors are red, yellow and grey... I tried several colors for the text, and the yellow of the flowers worked best.

This is your current banner:

I just listened to your latest podcast, and I think it's fantastic.  Keep up the good work.

Don't forget to add a link to NukeWorker to your "Favorite links" section.

Thanks for the cool banners!  I'll definitely use one of them, and will add a link to the page.  I wrote Jim a note about the image, but haven't heard back yet.

I'll be recording a new show this weekend, so listen in!
