Coming Back / NUF Exam ????
« Last post by TerryKelley on Today at 11:40 AM »
Trying to find out how to take NUF independently to prepare to RE-enter the RP 3.1 world. Haven't ever had to take it. 35 years as SR-RP/ALARA and then  into ES&H.

Retired and just want to work outages etc. Started in Business with Duke power HP school in early '80's.

Without NUF is there a qualified way to get accepted as SR 3.1 RP???

Holiday Greetings / Mothers day
« Last post by Marlin on Yesterday at 11:28 AM »
On this Mother's Day I was thinking about all the times I was thanked for my military service. I was uncomfortable with it and started saying thank you for being a citizen worth serving for. I was not better or more important than the ones thanking me. Most veterans come from solid families so without mothers we would not have many of our sailors and soldiers to serve. Maybe today we should tell our mothers thank you for your service. I am sure you will get a big hug.

Watts per cm2 is the answer.

In other words,

Rate of fission           =       Macroscopic Cross Section for Fission                x         Neutron Flux

Units   WATTS           =        cm2                                                               x        n- cm/ cm3 sec

-----------------------Divide both sides by Macroscopic Cross Section--------------------------------

Watts per cm 2          =                                                                                    Neutron Flux

LPRMs measure neutron flux.

RBMs  a different instrument, average LPRMs nearest the selected rod and normalize it to roughly % local power for block enforcement.

While lying down face up, is the bubble centered? That would make you a level headed guy. Have a speedy recovery.

Actually, its face down now that the bubble is small enough. Looking up is just a blur. BossLady is cracking the whip on me so no hold my beer moments.
