I need a sanity check please....what would be the activity in dpm/m2 for an activity level of 1,000 dpm/100cm2?
I need a sanity check please....what would be the activity in dpm/m2 for an activity level of 1,000 dpm/100cm2?sew, yins want too no the activity inn an area witch is 100 thymes larger than yore area reported? eye wood multiply the activity bye 100.

1 m^2 = 100^2 cm = 100 cm × 100 cm = 10,000 cm^2wile 1m^2=10,000cm^2, the relation ship between the area stated inn the activity report and 1m^2 is a 1:100 ratio.
It's a 1:10,000`relationship.
But why would anybody want to know this?
How are you measuring it?
What is your sample area?
How many sample areas are you measuring?
Is the contamination uniformly distributed?
What is/are the nuclides?
What detection instrument are you using?
Is this a scientific experiment where you are applying contamination?
Oops, I digress, you asked for sanity, and I gave you insanity instead.

You have entered Nukeworker/Twilight Zone/Curmudgeons-R-Us, after throwing a rock in our pond I hope you got the answer you wanted and a little more as well. Maybe at least entertained.

well, the OP's username is Radconpro so, I would surmise that a pro level tool such as http://www.radprocalculator.com/ (http://www.radprocalculator.com/) would suffice for the sanity check,...

BZ's general observation on Internet forums/threads etal, By the 5th post in any thread it starts drifting off topic. By 12 to 15 it has nothing to do with the original topic and if it surives to 30 or so it magically gets back on topic. This applies almost everywhere.

Sorry, but you asked for a sanity check, but appear to have gotten an insanity instead. 10 cm = 1 meter. Square both sides and yes it is a 100:1 ratio. Your area is 100 times larger. If your contamination was uniformly distributed, you would have 100 times more contamination. But why would anybody want to know this? How are you measuring it? What is your sample area? How many sample areas are you measuring? How much pressure are you applying to the smear? Is the contamination uniformly distributed? What is/are the nuclides? What detection instrument are you using? Is this a scientific experiment where you are applying contamination? Oops, I digress, you asked for sanity, and I gave you insanity instead. No, 100 cm = 1 m. 10 decimeters (dm) = 1 m. Not only did you give insanity, but worse, you gave wrong insanity.
