1 m^2 = 100^2 cm = 100 cm × 100 cm = 10,000 cm^2
It's a 1:10,000`relationship.

wile 1m^2=10,000cm^2, the relation ship between the area stated inn the activity report and 1m^2 is a 1:100 ratio.

Sorry, but you asked for a sanity check, but appear to have gotten an insanity instead. 10 cm = 1 meter. Square both sides and yes it is a 100:1 ratio. Your area is 100 times larger. If your contamination was uniformly distributed, you would have 100 times more contamination. But why would anybody want to know this? How are you measuring it? What is your sample area? How many sample areas are you measuring? How much pressure are you applying to the smear? Is the contamination uniformly distributed? What is/are the nuclides? What detection instrument are you using? Is this a scientific experiment where you are applying contamination? Oops, I digress, you asked for sanity, and I gave you insanity instead.

But why would anybody want to know this?

FSS,...

How are you measuring it?

ISOCS,...

What is your sample area?

Depends on FOV

How many sample areas are you measuring?

Depends, Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3

Is the contamination uniformly distributed?

typically as per the model

What is/are the nuclides?

depends on distribution and DCGL

What detection instrument are you using?

already answered

Is this a scientific experiment where you are applying contamination?

not hardly, MARSSIM (NUREG 1575) is a reg,...

Oops, I digress, you asked for sanity, and I gave you insanity instead.

1507 & 1757 & 1575 have been described as insanity, but they are all legal insanity,...

You guys are probably right, based on his previous posts he does have some experience. Maybe he is on his third (or twelfth) glass of wine. or just has a brain cloud at the time and threw himself into the volcano. Nukeworker is here to help not beat back the hordes.

BZ's general observation on Internet forums/threads etal, By the 5th post in any thread it starts drifting off topic. By 12 to 15 it has nothing to do with the original topic and if it surives to 30 or so it magically gets back on topic. This applies almost everywhere.

No, 100 cm = 1 m. 10 decimeters (dm) = 1 m. Not only did you give insanity, but worse, you gave wrong insanity.
