In Illinois Exelon has talked about closing down several plants, so hopefully this is good news for nuclear power.

No it won't

Funny, that's what some wind marketers said too. Care to elaborate?

You plop a gas turbine in the area to address voltage and the nuke is gone. Right now Ginna will be gone in about 2 years. The grid stability issue is being addressed and it doesn't involve saving Ginna. Any issues in Illinois are being caused by nukes not addressed by nukes. It's why 2 winters ago Exelon paid a utility to take their power vice back nukes down. Nuclear is dead and grid stability won't save it.
