Here is a side by side comparison, mostly to scale. The new layout is larger, and takes up more of the screen, and is easier to read.

Seriously, I like the new masthead and the formatting for the "Jobs" section. It offers a cleaner presentation of the information contained in that section.

On an equally arbitrary note . . . if'n yas makes a change that I dont like, I'll be sure to holler.

Anything that could come up in a thread.

For example, if Macgyver and I bet on an SEC game or Marlin and I bet on an event outcome.

Just an idea.

Another forum that I frequent (www.irishenvy.com) has this option and it is used frequently.

The attached mock up is not actually intended to be implemented, its just a sample of how we could change things (you know, give you theme options) with the new design. So don't freak out, this isn't actually going to happen. (At least not yet

)

Click on the little picture below for a larger version. I didn't embed the Larger version in the message because I know even with 30 point font, people won't read the text, and will fly off the handle.

I do like the banner ad below the site name masthead, among other things.

I've often said that the Facility info section isn't up to my expectation and desires. I made a mockup today that I think I like. It's attached.

Basically it has a nice picture, and general information at the top, a blurb about the site below that, then the jobs available, news feed, then all the statistical info/links.

It's a nice clean simple look.

I'm not moving the furnature, I'm just changing the covering on the couch. Everythign will still be in the same place. Basically, I'm just removing the dull round edges and replacing them with sharp pointy edges.

Much cleaner I noticed that sometimes the white text in the rounded areas disappeared on the edges, this is better.

I'm as bad as the rest of you. I couldn't stand the 'change' of removing my soft round corners. So they stay. I have the home page wider now.

Expect some more tinkering over the next few days.

I think I'm about done for the evening. I'll clean up the big "NukeWorker" text image tomorrow. The image editing software crashed on me when i tried to save it, and I'm too tired to re-do the work tonight. I'm happy with the changes that were and were not made.

I just re-jiggered the news feed, it should have more relevant news feeds. Basically, I told it to ignore all the war mongering stuff. Let me know if you miss it.

Logos in the job section seem a little large and overwhelm the print. Did you just change the format in the news feed or are the search criteria new too?

I'm currently working with this section. I currently its the same criteria, just with new formatting. After I get the formatting down, I may try working on the criteria again. I think I have a new trick.

As far as the news formatting goes, I'm still tweaking it, but what do you think of the formatting there so far?
