I was just informed that Palisades raised their rates for RP Techs for the outage $6/hr. No hinky 'bonus', just $6/hr more on your check every week.

It's a nice late spring outage, still time to get one more in!

Staffing around April 17, 2017, Breaker 04/23/2017, about 32 days.

I'm told that $6 raise makes it $37.50/hr.  Ca-Ching!  [nuke] [2cents]

Explain that to me.  I am a little slow.  (I saw some one on Facebook say to thank RSCS also.)

The way I see it, Palisades can't staff, so they raise the rate so that they can staff.  No backup (at the same rate) would change that.  If they raise the rate, it would be for all companies, the primary and the backup.

When I spoke with the RPM and Superintendent, they made no mention of a backup influencing this at all.  Simple math, techs won't come, raise the rate, they will come.

my contacts toll me that rscs had the backup contract and where actively staffing at $37 par our since second week of march. d&z razed there rate the lass week of march.

That extra paper will come in handy to screen your air samples for 2He4.

The Admiral trained us dummies way back when that didn't have access to all this new fangled fancy counting equipment that if yer part ick u late seems high, place a dollar bill or equivalent tween da probe and sample media. If rate of count dee creases by .5 or so, you may be immersed in an inversion of the temperature. Far as I know that dollar bill don't know the difference tween natty heliums, and dwonze at a Level 1 facility. I guess I perhaps wasn't all that cirrus. Don't gas babies on the Donalds watch.

inn a fission plant? awl of my limited experience, aye never had 2he4 at a pwr knorr bwr. herd about it when old hp started up big sol #1,  n sum fusion unit theory.
eye kin sea, n have dun sew, for h3 (udder isotopes two) using paper too screen alpha emitters n low energy betas. tritium will yield helium wit beta decay, butt yore dollar is useless as this he is knot radioactive.

RSCS does have the backup contract and yes they were offering $38 an hour for 3.1 RPT (this was in March).  I know this for a fact because they called me to take an ALARA position and offered the same to my husband for a Technician position.

My bad. I should have stated the correct 2He4 2+ to id the culprit as an alpha particle and not a neophyte helium nucleus. Now de dollar bills work good eh ?

I had the same thought until I realized he meant 2He4+++ Ek... or just α.
Makes me wonder if I should check my money for contamination...

I am a 3.1 senior RP and when I last spoke to Christal of DZ she told me it would only be $28/hr.  Me thinks I should call her tomorrow.
