"It however creates toxic and mildly radioactive waste which must be stored indefinitely at significant cost. Clean-up costs for nuclear power stations are also high and often hidden from initial estimates"
Sigh.....
I have to admit, first time I've seen spent fuel described as "mildly radioactive". This does hold true after 200-300 hundred years when the fission products decay away. Then it can be stored in sheet metal warehouses. Better yet, recycle........remove the fission products and reduce the high level waste volume significantly. "Spent fuel" isn't spent.......it's basically gold. Hell, even the fission products could have good use in society (cancer treatments for example)
At least China gets it
