Messed around with it a little. Looks like if you keep doing it, the symbols for certain numbers change each time, except they all change to the same thing. So you will always pick one of those numbers. Didn't feel like figuring out the equation. But pretty cool none the less.

Not really all that amazing... that formula will always give you a multiple of 9. Check out all the multiples of 9... except 90 which can never come up as an answer.
