Hypersalinated water?  Does Turkey Point make its own potable water from salt water?

Brackish elevated salt water concentration from cooling canals leaking into the ocean.

Originating from the groundwater under the cooling canals... so, the water leaks into the cooling canals from natural groundwater and becomes Turkey Point's problem. Groundwater that enters the ocean without going through the canals is no problem, but going through the canals makes it one. Beauty.

Blame it on the nuclear plant...convenient...easy target with the way our government is leaning.

Not entirely nature as the cooling canal has a lot of evaporation that concentrates the salt content not to mention low rainfall. The American crocodile lives there it is one of the few nesting areas in the US for it. Maybe they should get a pass since they are partly responsible for increasing the population in the past. The current issue with the salinity has also affected the population of the crocs so a little feed and bleed to the ocean does not seem like such a big deal or maybe a few settling ponds to desalinate.

I agree there are usually two sides to the story, but nuclear plants usually end up paying more and doing more than they should to keep local government and environmentalists happy.  If the political climate for nuclear warms considerably maybe this will ease up a bit.  Same goes for some other large businesses just seems like the effect is multiplied for nuclear.
