Interesting article.  Now where would they build in what community that would be acceptable to the idea? The only true answer is Paducah.  You can guarantee the existing nuclear workforce and community would embrace the idea. You already have the high power infrastructure from the days of needing power (gaseous diffusion.)  Can Kentuckians make it happen?  Maybe. DOE Portsmouth was asked the same thing 7 years ago.  The southern OH community and the workforce wanted nuclear power and has the same high power electrical infrastructure for the same reason as Paducah. The DOE (wanted a precious metals smelter) and the OH politicians dismissed it. Will it ever happen? no.  Definitely not with the fracking gas prices. Big City-wise power needs, only the Paducah site makes any sense in KY (for Louisville).
