A question out of my own ignorance:  Would these new natural gas plants be fed straight from a pipeline of is gas storage involved?  If gas storage is involved, how much gas and what kind of impact would that have in this world of modern-day terrorism who seem to love to pick on big cities?

Would love an answer to those questions myself. I would think there would have to be new pipelines to supply them but there is no new traffic I can find on the web. As to the terminals a rupture to a large tank and an ignition of the gas cloud would be a civilian MOAB. The Port Ambrose Terminal off the coast of New York and New Jersey is still off the table as far as I know.

knot having searched pipeline construction, butt idly reeding has lead me two the conclusion that l.p.g. plants have storage wile gas  run from pipeline supply.

Yes that is the issue new pipelines have been blocked so far and there is a shortage of them for New York.

Politics,...

ComEd cannot get DEC to approve permits,...

For ComEd to make up the lost generation capacity ComEd needs more supply,...

So, ComEd is leaning on the state to clear the way for permits to support ComEd,...

The new gas plant in Orange County has standing to bring in gas from Pennsylvania with new lines to be built from Pa. into NYS,...

Consolidated Edison = ConEd . . . . not ComEd.  That would be Illinois.
