   I believe the goal is to reduce PIDAS from 400 to 40 acres. That's a number I remember from about ten years ago so not so reliable, but there are a number of abandoned buildings that will dwarf the UPF footprint along with utility facilities that do not need to be inside PIDAS.

I haven't been in there in 15 years.  I do remember a number of post-mission outdated facilities up for D&D.   It also had "junkyard" right smack in the middle of the PIDAS.

   Those junk yards (hazardous material scrap yards) are gone I was the superintendent for one of them. Initial cleanup of some of those very large building buildings on the west end of classified material and much of the hazardous waste is done. I was a waste engineer for one of those million square foot buildings. There is a lot of work out there in the future above ground and below. Mercury is a an issue due to spills years ago (285,500 to 500,000 pounds).
