Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station gets its cooling water from treated sewage water (effluent) piped from cities in the metropolitan Phoenix area. It is the only nuclear power plant in the world not located near a large body of water, making it a unique example of using recycled wastewater for industrial cooling!
