Kairos Power began construction on the Hermes 2 demonstration facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, following a site groundbreaking on April 17. Kairos Power broke ground on its Hermes 2 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on April 17. Under an agreement with Google, the Hermes 2 fluoride salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor will produce 50 MW of clean electricity for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) grid.

Kairos will fabricate Hermes 2 reactor equipment modules at its manufacturing campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and ship them to Oak Ridge for assembly.
