Went to the V site today. Went inside the assembly building etc.  Kinda eerie.. the birth place of us all...

To fill in the blanks, the V site was the assembly building for the trinity device. It is interesting to note that the plutonium was transported to the blast site in the back of Plymouth sedan. The explosive sphere (five feet in diameter) was transported there a few days later.

The explosive sphere was strapped to an army transport vehicle. Quite a start, don't you think.
