Do any of the plant workers need a house to rent come November 2013? It is a 2/1 nice older home in Ft. Pierce a few streets west of US 1 off of Georgia Ave. Nice neighbors, quiet street, fenced in back yard if you need to bring your dog.  It is a regular house, nice wooden floors, kitchen, living room, small from enclosed porch, a few miles from the beach.  Just wondering if there are people interested, want to save some money and not rent high priced condos. Hi - this is "T".  I own a condo at Ocean Village on Hutchinson Island just about 7 miles up the street (Route A1A) from the St Lucie Power Plant.  It is well known that employees of the Plant, as well as their relatives & visitors, are in constant need of short and long term housing.  Ocean Village is an ideal spot for that!  You can choose to spend your days off (or after a day of work at the plant) by relaxing beside one of the many pools or on the sands of the 3000 foot Ocean Beach, play some golf, or have a drink and a bite at the Tiki Hut.  Or you could opt to take advantage of a planned activity concocted by the full-time Activities Director.

There are about 7 or 8 miles of beachfront condos right next to the plant that usually have openings.
Until you get settled, the Marriott Courtyard is closest to St. Lucie. It offers discounts to people working at the plant. Call direct 561-229-1000.

Road Runner Travel Resort north of Ft. Pierce. It is an RV place but they have small furnished rental trailers. Quiet & about 20 minutes from the plant. High bridge, don't worry about boats. (800.833.7108, 5500 St. Lucie Blvd, west of small county airport).

It includes a private beach that is just a short walk from the condo. Beach chairs, towels and an umbrella are provided. A full assortment of activities are available and included in the rent; including gym, pools, tennis, shuffleboard, golf, bocce, onsite restaurant, bar and tiki bar. (Only exception is golf, which is $5.00 a round)
