Navy Nuke DEPS

My recruiter told me in order to start the background check, I need to go to MEPS and sign a random job for them to start the background check for Nuke. Assuming all goes right, then she says, I will be put in to Nuke. is this true?

Yeah it's true. They had me Dep in as a MT. A month later I got my nuke contract.
