I worked with a person at a utility with a bachelors in mangement.  We worked in the Maintenence group.  He went on to SRO Ceritification and eventually to the NRC as a resident inspector.  He was a former Sub ET1, but he never had a techhnical degree.  I have met several other NRC inspection team members who did not have an actual bachelors degree. They were formerly civillian technicians and licensed operators from years ago and they were assist team inspection group specialists, not Resident inspectors.  All ofthe standards for hiring today appear to require the bachelors degree i some technical form.  I have an Excelsior degree and a later Engineering degree that is ABET accredited and I have my PE license. With that level of education there is no limit to what you can choose to do in the commercial nuclear field.
