First season vs. remaining seasons:

Season 1: "The Movie Star, and the rest..."

Other Seasons: "The Movie Star, The Professor and, Maryann...

There was actually a big fight at the beginning of the first season with Bob Denver being outraged over Russell Johnson and Dawn Wells getting stiffed in the song and he almost quit until they told him not to (better to be employed and ignored.) They were originally supposed to be minor characters compared to the others. After the first season, the producers realized that all of the characters were necessary and had the song edited.

Ummm... I mean, no, Mike I didn't know that!  :D

Not older than all dirt, just older than some.

I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle (before it became The Bullwinkle Show), Merrie Melodies Cartoons on various shows, Captain Kangaroo when I was very young, The Little Rascals, The Mickey Mouse Club, Bozo the Clown, Howdy Doody... I even remember watching Amos & Andy.

By the time HR Puffenstuff and the Banana Splits came along, I wasn't into that stuff (my younger sisters were) but I stayed faithful to Rocky and Bullwinkle and Bugs Bunny for many years.

If I remember right Black Point was a summer rental community for vacationers, but then I am surprised anyone at those parties remembers anything.  ;) There was a St Patty's Day party that outage that just about wiped out the HP staff for the next day. If "the road" was like that again there would be more people wanting to travel (alas, fitness for duty prevails).

I can still remember waking up to the sound of the phone ringing and realizing immediately that it was dark outside which meant that nightshift had already started... and all four of us in the house were nightshifters. I heard Bob answer the phone, not with "Hello" but with "We'll be right there." If I remember correctly, over 90% of nightshift was either late or absent that night. We were told we couldn't have any more parties... which made for a great laugh at the Bugs 'n' Brew the following Saturday morning. (It was a force of nature. Even if we had cancelled it, the people would have shown up.)

Dynagirl YES!!  Ultraman YES!!  Dark Shadows....ummmm, can you say twilight 1960s style?  YUCK!  Saw a few reruns never got into it.  Tom and Jerry and the Roadrunner show were the best but that goes without saying, need to go deeper.

Are you nuts!!! Hardly a chick show! I have these on DVD!

My little sisters were seriously into it when they were about 10 and 12 years old, too. I tried to watch it once and came to the same conclusion as HouseDad.

I was, am still and will always be a fan of The Monkees. I was never called by name on Romper Room as I have never met another soul who has my name :(

I loved Dark Shadows and was scared to death of Angelique!

I believe those of us born in the 40-60's ( me 1958 ) had the best of the best; music, tv, etc. SciFi just hasn't been the same since we landed on the moon...

I like hot dog flavored potato chips,...

I do have concerns that potato chips which taste like hot dogs are probably worse for me than either hot dogs or potato chips,...

I agree we had the best, but I think the point at which sci-fi slipped into the hog confinement was after the original Battlestar Galactica, aka Exodus in Space :)

As a kid, I used to think TBHQ was some sorta chemical preservative that made the stuff taste barbecue-like and not spoiling. Turns out it is used in fracking oil fields. We're better off just eating plain bacon cured in nothing but salt water and real sugar!

I hate to admit this but,.....

I was perusing an "Operator's Manual, Detroit Diesel Series 71 Three, Four, Six-Cylinder Marine Propulsion Units" at a garage sale this weekend,...

I caught myself humming a tune from 1986,...

a Berlin tune,...

It is a very cool manual, circa 1942(?) and includes the "Procedure for Installation of Dual-Fuel Engine Conversion Kits" plus a section on the 12 cylinder, dual-engine, dual-shaft, twin pack,...

I mentally hip-checked myself off the Berlin tune,...

I bought the manual, a good trade for 3 bucks, nothing like diesel specs to chase Berlin europop back into the dark shadowlands of forgotten nightmares,...

:P ;) :) 8)

Peter Tork will be at a Fanboy Expo next month here in Knoxville. I had no interest in going until I saw him on the guest list. I will add his signature to my collection along with Dick Van Dyke. Yes I do "geek boy" weekends from time to time.
