been there, dun that,... the doormat to hell does not read "welcome", the doormat to hell reads "it's just business"

Ok, I just made some changes. The forum now defaults to the 'old' theme again (NukeWorker2.0), unless you are using a phone, then it uses the 'new' theme "NukeWorker Responsive"

It's a win  / win situation.  All of us old farts don't have to deal with the change, and the 'kids' on their phones can use the site on their phones.

So you caved under the pressure of the geriatrics?  :old: :)

Any chance that the karma logs will return? Would be nice to know who is bumping you up or down.

Thanks for all the work you are doing to update the site. I primarily view on my laptop, but with the mobile friendly version rolled out I have been checking it on my phone more often.

It's called knowing your audience.  We are what we are.

I use my desktop the most, my laptop when away from home, and now.... NOW that its mobile friendly, I have started using my phone as well.  IT was just SO painful to use it on a phone before.  So... Mission accomplished (at least for the parts its been rolled out in. I still have many parts of the site to work on)

Well, for some reason, it says that you are not a gold member, friend.  Karma is for Gold Members.

Marlin

He has been posting in PolySci which is a Gold Member area   ??? :-\

Rennhack

Moderators have access to the gold member message boards.

Gotcha, time to pony up then, Karma log is helpful to moderators

Rennhack

If he needs it to do his job, he shouldn't have to pay for it.  I'll get on that.

Rennhack

I just made him a 'Global Moderator' aka forum staff.  Now he has access.

Thanks, I went in an paid for it anyways. Not sure it was necessary to moderate the news feeds. Just had gotten used to being able to see who bumped me.

Guess I have a little bit of a geriatric nature as well. It's good to know who you are and own it. ;)

Now you can moderate all the boards, if you choose to.

Rennhack

So... I need some help with the "Nuclear News" and "More Nuclear News" sections.

Someone pointed out "Why?"... Well, the first section is the news feeds the news bot posts in the forum for archive.  The second part is the old school news feed.

So... How should we handle the 2 news sections? (Names, etc)

Also, now that you have had a few weeks to adjust to the 2 sections.  What do you think about them?

(P.S. At marlin's request, I brought back the board name (on desktop/laptop) for forum messages.

The difference is not clear to me. But AutoBot Nuke News seems like a good name for the first, it goes well with transforming the site.

The main difference is the first section is archived in firum, the second is just external links.

Rennhack

I'm thinking for the mobile version of the home page, to limit the items in each list. For example, 10 instead of 20 jobs, forum, news.

The logic is the phone users should be checking the site more iften.

Thougjts?

Again, it won't affect us desktop using dinosaurs.

Gotcha', the best solution is usually the simplest... "Nuclear News Forum" & "Nuclear News Links"

Agree with this as well.
