The New NUF Cram Notes is finally available:

NUF Cram Notes Kindle Edition
NUF Cram Notes Print Edition

It's about 3x the size of the original.  I highly recommend it.  It is more detailed than the original.  This version is aimed at the less experienced NUF test taker than the original "RP Cram Notes".

I do not own either a kindle or a nook. Is there a on line version.

What is the value of having it on a Kindle? Is it interactive, or just in book form?

I do have an IPod Itouch and have electrical apps.

Why isn't there an IPod app that you can get it?

Thank You

The value of having it in Kindle format, is that Amazon has a Kindle reader (for free) for every electronic device.  Every Apple Product, Every Android/Google Product, and Every Microsoft Product.  This includes, Phones, Tablets, Desktops, Laptops, IPods, Blackberrys, web browsers (cloud) -- EVERYWHERE.  Putting in Kindle format makes it easy for people to have it where they want it.  – But most all of those devices should also be able to read the free PDF I linked above as well.

And here is a page with links to all of the different free: Kindle readers for every platform.

There is.  Go to your Ipod app store and search for Kindle.  Or just figure out how to put the free PDF on your Ipod (download it, store it on your computer, then transfer it over with Itunes.

Here is a link to the iTunes page for the Kindle App:

Thanks Mike!  This will give me a nice, compact, wand of information to reach out and whack someone suffering from intelligensia amnesia.

Update:

The 'Super Abbreviated NUF Study Guide' aka 'RP Cram Notes' has been downloaded 491 times for free from us, and purchased 53 times (36 times kindle, 17 times Nook).  That is 544 total distributions.

So, whats the verdict?  Did it help anyone?  Was it the concise study material you needed for the NUF?

I'd REALLY love some feedback from people that used it.

Be honest, I can take criticism.  What ways would you like to see it improved?  What ways was it perfect?

Rennhack

I've also considered making a version that is not 'super abbreviated'.  Something for the Jr Tech's out there.  Let me know if there is any interest in that.

Mike,
Having taken the NUF via NANTEL in Apr 2011 and Apr 2012 at Columbia and Fermi respectively and having reviewed the Amazon Edition of Nukeworker.com Cram Notes (nice job by the way), I noticed the absence of these minor topics in the text.

F18
Glow curve
P10 mix
Gm sensitivity

The two tests I took were remarkably similar to each other and to the Amazon Edition of Nukeworker.com Cram Notes.

Rennhack

wlrun3,

Thank you for the feedback.  I assume you mean those topics are in the test(s) and not in the cram notes.  That is exactly what I'm looking for.  If you could email me some bullet points that I should include for those 4 items, I'll include them in the next revision.

Also, If you could come up with some practice questions for the online practice test, we could include them there as well.

wlrun3@aol.com

Mike,
I will email you the bullet points soon. Thank you for asking. Until then here are the facts that were on both of the NUF exams that I recently took but were not directly addressed in NukeWorker.com RP Cram Notes.
Again, great job on your book.

F18...water activation product

Glow curve...in reference to annealing (heating) Tld's

P10 mix...10% methane , 90% argon (corrected, thankyou)

Gm sensitivity...inferior to sodium iodide microR  for gamma given detection medium densities

Mike,
The abbreviated (super) is what I tell people to look over before they take either the NEU of DOE tests and mark(highlight)the items they aren't sure about and spend quality time reviewing those items or subjects and not waste time on what they already know.

But that is just me.

Don't tell them to use it for the DOE Core.  It's not targeted at that.  I COULD make one of those too.  Tell the DOE folks to take our online practice test.  The Super Abbreviated study guide aka RP Cram notes are only to be used to refresh your memory for our NUF practice test or the NANTeL NUF test.  It is tightly focused on the objectives of those tests.

Changing Mirrors

After being out of the commercial nuclear industry for 17 years, this study guide helped me pass the exam the first time. It is well worth the dollar amount investment. Changing Mirrors coming to a Nuke plant near you :-*

I've created a paperback edition for those of us that like to have some paper in our hands, and something to highlight.  Below is the link to it:

I just re-published the Nook and Kindle versions with the 'Second Edition' version so they may be unavailable for up to 24 hours.  The printed version may not be available for up to 48 hours.

Rick Engel suggested an audio version of cram notes, for driving to the site.  Is there any interest in that?  If so, what format, mp3, audio CD or other?
