US scientists repeat fusion ignition breakthrough for 2nd time

   I am anticipating the inevitable argument that the amount of energy delivered by the lasers was much larger that the output of the fusion reaction. The ignition facility is primarily a weapons stockpile stewardship program. The lasers target a container around the capsule (Xray oven). The energy gain is the energy delivered to the capsule from the secondary energy produced by targeting the Xray oven that the capsule is in.
