The Nuclear Grid Capacity & Generation Analysis dashboard provides a centralized interface for monitoring and analyzing the performance of the U.S. nuclear fleet. This tool utilizes both real-time metrics and long-term historical trends.

Below is an overview of the features and data visualizations available:

Core Fleet Metrics

The dashboard displays six primary KPIs based on your selected date range and filters:

    Current Generation: Total fleet output in MWe.

    Capacity Factor: Percentage of output relative to the current total fleet capacity.

    Period Average: The mean Capacity Factor (CF) for the selected timeframe.

    Period Peak Gen: The highest generation level achieved during the period.

    Days Below 80%: A metric tracking the frequency of significant fleet-wide output dips.

    Reporting Units: The number of active units contributing data.

Interactive Visual Analytics

Users can filter the entire dashboard by Time Range (1Y, 5Y, All), Plant, Region, Reactor Type (PWR/BWR), or Owner.

    Grid Utilization %: A historical line chart featuring a 90% Benchmark and period average overlay to identify performance against industry standards.

    Seasonal & YoY Patterns: Visual breakdowns of monthly performance averages and year-over-year comparisons to identify recurring seasonal trends.

    Capacity Factor Heatmap: A daily grid view of the entire fleet's performance, allowing for rapid identification of spring and fall outage windows over several years.

Geographic & Comparative Tools

    Regional Capacity Factor Map: An interactive map of all U.S. nuclear sites, color-coded by their average Capacity Factor.

    Plant Comparison Tool: Allows users to select any two specific plants to overlay their performance data on a single comparative chart.

    Top & Bottom 10: A ranking of the best and worst-performing units by Capacity Factor, which can be further filtered by Owner.

    Regional Breakdown: Side-by-side performance comparisons across NRC Regions I-IV.



Strategic & Historical Planning

    Fleet Sunset (License Expiration): A timeline bar chart tracking the remaining license life for every unit in the fleet.

    Fleet Size Over Time: Tracks the total number of units in the fleet, including the addition of new units like Vogtle 3 and 4.

    Capacity Factor Distribution: A histogram showing the frequency of different performance levels across the fleet.

Raw Data & Export

For those requiring offline analysis, the Day-by-Day Detailed Data table provides the raw numbers for every date in the database.

    Searchable Table: Filter by date, generation, or capacity factor directly in the browser.

    CSV Export: A dedicated "Export CSV" button allows for the immediate download of the filtered dataset for use in Excel or other analytical tools.
