...millstone 3 (four loop westinghouse 84) has centrifugal charging pumps as opposed to positive displacement...are there others...

Nuclear NASCAR

Callaway also has centrifigul charging pumps.  Of course, we're also a Westinghouse 4 loop.

Sequoyah (4-loop W) also has CCP (PD abandoned years ago).

Turkey Point (3-loop W) still has PD pumps. Maintenance headache.

Positive displacment pumps can present a real danger more so than cent. pump. they will pump no matter what even with the down stream valve closed and then KFB.

TENN-1

D.C. Cook (four loop Westinghouse) has two centrifugal and one positive displacement per unit. We only run the centrifugal pump but we maintain both CCPs and the PDP. I've been here a decade and a half and have never seen the PDP run.
Things come to those who wait, but usually it's stuff left over from those who hustle!
