Actually, Indian Point is the best value for your dollar. Very high per diem ($155 / day for DZ) and very affordable lodging very near the plant. I, and many others, stay across the river near West Point Academy for less than $300 / week...15 minutes to the gate too! Great area. Many choose to stay in Fishkill which is 35 minutes from the gate but  double the cost. A few brave souls live in Peekskill and save a little but risk a lot...crime etc. Lodging is plentiful but largely word-of-mouth. If new to the area, I would get a place (hotel etc.) for your first week and start asking around.
