rct core useful?

i'm about to take my doe core exam.  i noticed there is a core and a site on the website i'm testing with.  how useful will just the core be.  i currently have about 2 years rad exp.

Many DOE site require you have the core before you get there.  You can only get the site specific after you get there.  Some sites want you to have the core before you get there, but give you the core again as part of the "Comprehensive" exam, which covers both core, and site.
