Earlier this year, Tennessee submitted a proposal suggesting Oak Ridge as the site for one of these campuses, which would support every stage of nuclear power production, from fuel fabrication and enrichment to reprocessing and disposal. Twenty-six states applied, and Tennessee was one of five selected, the DOE announced Tuesday. The others are Utah, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Idaho.
