The contracts increase operational flexibility for site cleanup while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

QuoteRICHLAND, Wash. – The U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Field Office contractor Hanford Tank Waste Operations and Closure (H2C) has awarded three subcontracts that expand the site's capabilities for the future disposition of tank-side treated waste, providing additional tools to support Hanford's cleanup mission.

The awards were made to Perma-Fix, EnergySolutions and Waste Control Specialists to support future tank-side treated waste generated from Hanford's 200 West Area. Together, the contracts establish commercial grouting capabilities that can be deployed as cleanup needs evolve while maintaining safe, compliant waste disposition options.

The subcontractors also provide the capability to grout concentrate produced by the Effluent Management Facility beginning in 2027, while supporting planning for additional treated waste streams and future transport methods.
