Urenco USA has begun construction on a multi-billion-dollar expansion at its National Enrichment Facility in Eunice, New Mexico. The project will add 2.1 million separative work units of capacity using gas-centrifuge technology to increase domestic fuel production. This expansion aims to meet rising demand for low-enriched uranium and strengthen the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.

The company announced its plans to expand its US capacity by nearly 50% in June, making a strategic, multi-billion-dollar investment to fund the construction of a new enrichment plant at Urenco USA's National Enrichment Facility in Eunice, New Mexico.
