TRISO-X has transitioned to the next phase of construction at its fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The project now moves into interior buildout and equipment installation, including the construction of a graphite matrix powder building. Clark Construction Group remains the lead contractor for the 214,000 square foot facility.

This facility aims to produce 5 metric tons of uranium annually, supporting the deployment of high-temperature gas-cooled reactors like the Xe-100. The project represents a shift toward commercial-scale manufacturing of TRISO fuel, which is necessary for the operation of advanced small modular reactors. Successful completion of this plant is required to establish a domestic supply chain for HALEU-based fuel technologies.
