I know its kind of a silly question but are there any good golf courses that are relatively inexpensive in the vicinity of the Nuke School?

I'm not sure about Charleston, but every other Naval Base I've ever been to had an excellent Golf Course.

Naval Weapons Station (Goose Creek) near the nuke school has a good course but watch out for the gators.

DarkMesa8

No kidding on those gators.  When we arrived, the driver pointed to the pond and said there's an alligator that lives in there, but he doesn't bother anybody.  Of course, we thought she was kidding.

After getting our stuff from Bowman, and driving back around to the BEQs (no more than 15-20 minutes later), we passed the pond again there was was an alligator just sitting and sunning himself.

Coastal South Carolina is a golfer's dream.

I think there are something like 95 golf courses in Myrtle Beach, an hour and a half north.

Hilton Head is an hour south, Kiawah Island is about a half hour south.

As for Chas itself, as said above, the NWS has a course, Charleston AFB has a good course, and the local courses are pretty cheap.

Gators would be interesting, up here in NW Indiana all we have is a ton of geese that litter the golf course, they aren't very dangerous (especially when you have a club in hand just in case) but they annoy you because they defeacate all over the course, its pretty gross.

WARNING:  DO NOT TAUNT THE ALLIGATORS ON THE NAVY BASE COURSE...THEY RUN FASTER THAN A GOLF CART.  DO NOT THROW RANGE BALLS AT THE ALLIGATORS.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POKE ALLIGATORS WITH A 3 IRON.

Tater... what did you do? Fess up.

Charleston AFB is supposed to have a nice golf course.

All of the things listed above, which resulted in an extremely angry gator and about 5 drunk, scared shitless Sailors.
