The Krško nuclear power plant is at Vrbina in the municipality of Krško, Slovenia, on the left bank of the Sava River. It was built when Slovenia and Croatia were republics of Yugoslavia, and has a single Westinghouse two-loop pressurized water reactor.

The Slovenian and Croatian governments agreed in 1970 to build the plant jointly. Construction began in 1975. The reactor was connected to the grid on October 2, 1981, and entered commercial operation in January 1983.
