MZFR (Mehrzweckforschungsreaktor, multi-purpose research reactor) was a heavy-water power and research reactor on the grounds of the Karlsruhe nuclear research center in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Construction began in December 1961. The reactor used heavy water as moderator and coolant, and had a thermal output of 200 MW and an electrical output of 50 MW. It first reached criticality on 29 September 1965 and was connected to the grid on 9 March 1966. Besides power generation it served as a test bed for materials and for operator training, and from 1979 to 1984 it supplied heat as well as electricity. Operation ended on 3 May 1984. In 1989 it was decided to dismantle the plant in stages.
