The Chinese government authorized construction in May 2015, and in August 2024 CGN received approval to build Units 3 and 4. The units are Hualong One pressurized water reactors. Construction of Unit 1 began on 31 December 2020, Unit 2 on 30 December 2021 and Unit 3 on 19 November 2025. Unit 1 was connected to the grid on 12 March 2026.
