darkmatter

I confess to using Nukeworker.com for Outage gossip and Forum Hijinks although the Moderators keep me (and others) under control for the most part.

If it wasn't for bad karma, I'd have no karma at all
"Never underestimate the power of a Dark Klown"

Darkmatters website is no more, nada, gonzo,
http://darkmatter.nukeworker.net.istemp.com  this will get you there, but I can't update it anymore. Maybe nukeworker will host personal sites eventully

greengoo

I use it for a little of everything.

Rennhack

I use it to satiate my obsessive compulsive disorder.

Good answer.

Dan_E.

I was going to mark "information exchange with others," but to do that I would need to be able to offer something and I have only received so far. So it had to be "job info" as that covers just about everything including the gossip. ;D

duke99301

I am Bored and looking for something to cheer me up someone always has somehting funny here plus some good tips as will, as for work nothing like networking.

Atomic_Punk

Where's the choice for "All the above"? ;D

peteshonkwiler

I use it primarily as an Information Exchange With Others, but I also dabble in the other categories.

Yea, though I walk through the boundaries of containment, I shall fear no dose, for my meters are with me.  My counters, air sample filters, and smears, they comfort me.

Iowa_HP

I use this site basically as a way to stay in contact with the nuclear world and to keep in contact with friends in the nuclear world.  (y) [smiley=user.gif]

atomicarcheologist

I come here for the information that is available here, some of which isn't available anywhere else on the web, at least any of the sites that I have visited.  I guess the Nuke News classifies as information, doesn't it?

Roll Tide

QuoteWhere's the choice for "All the above"? ;D

Many good choices, as well as many good reasons to visit the site. :)

roadhard

I use it for:

1) Job search. :-?

2) Amusement - reading posts. [smiley=laugh.gif]

3) Flirting with NukeRecruiter  [smiley=1luvu.gif], but the girl just won't take the bait.

4) This site also has comprehensive Study Guide info - highly recommended. (y)

5) Keeping tabs on old roadies. [smiley=wave.gif]

Uh, not necessarily in that order either.  [smiley=1luvu.gif]

HousePuke

1. Keep in touch with friends.
2. Read the posts and get a chuckle or two
3. See what jobs are listed
4. Give karma
5. Just generally enjoy the site!

LOL.  We all knew that SloGlo.  I use it for Nukeinfo and keeping up with friends and the industry news.  Giving Karma is fun and the jokes are great when you need a laugh.  Radbitch is one funny lady.   ;D

Marco

I use it to receive info`s about the North American Nuclear Industry, to laugh about Slogo`s comments ;D , get insight into the HP business  :o and get informed about Nuclear News world wide.
Furthermore it enabled me to get in touch with some nice guys, and I learned about their point of views.  :)
Unfortunately we don`t have any comparable website here in Germany.
Good job.

Doc_REM

Where else can you go and get paid so much for doing so little...oh your suppost to say that at some other place, huh!
I enjoy reading all the STUFF that you find here. sometimes I get to laugh and sometimes I get mad, but over all, I just look forward to coming home from work and seeing what everybody had to say for that day.
Karma to all!!!

Nuclear NASCAR

I use it for a ton of things, but mostly to learn about this industry, because I haven't really been in it that long. (Karma to rdtroja)  ;D

Which is usually more interesting?

duder2112

Pretty much all of the above plus perhaps to quell small bits of boredom at work...

BakeAndShake

... to reminisce about the life behind the razor wire and armed guards.

Checking up on darkmatter and darkson, the scamps ;)

Surely you jest........

garycom

I don't post a lot of messages, but I check out the site frequently to see what people have to say about the many different subjects.  I find many of the posts very informative, and many others very entertaining!

Showme T. Money

use it for all of the above, maining finding jobs and finding where to stay when i get to the site

Camella Black

Lets see, to stay sane while hubby is working long hours, to find old friends, to voice my opinion, and to get more KARMA.

radzee284

A little bit of everything, mostly contacting old friends and keeping in touch with the road tech world.....

DecommMan

...to get a different perspective on things.  Also for comic relief.
Decomm Man

remowil55

Outage info, gossip and to get my head bashed every now and then. although i will say, it is pretty weil done web site. Wish we would have had it 10 years ago. It's also a great place to find old missing friends, and to see who has left the building. Remo

Dream Tar Heel

If it's available, I use it. The 1 site I visit everyday! ;)
I NEVER KNEW LOVE, I JUST KNOW THE SOUND IT MAKES WHEN IT LIES!

ramdog_1

I have been using Nuke worker every day to keep up on what is going on with the others out there some good some funny. some sad when we see a fallen friend. good luck all.

chicklet

I use nukeworker for a variety of things, one is email because you can check it just about anywhere, even at work.  I also like to read the outage news and see what's going on in other places.  The most important reason is for the pictures.  I like to post pictures for every plant I go to, so people can come to this website and look at them.

beacher

I use nukeworker for the email. I also like to look at the plants

visserjr

I use it as a means of info exchange/job info. Lots of great people in the boards.

mlazyj

I was given this link to study for my RCT test and now I check in about every day to see what is new.

visserjr

EVERYTHING! Thanks to all who make it happen.

RP Instructor

I'm not looking for a job, but if I were (or knew of someone who was), I'd definitely refer them to "nukeworker.com". Mike Rennhack has done the nuclear industry a big favor (which by the way is an understatement) by creating this website/forum.

That news list is just for Region II.

Here is a better list for you, you pick the plant, it gives you the news, weather, pictures, maps, facility rating, lodging, directions, etc... all on one page:

Why would anyone want to look at another region?  ;D

Thanks, Mike. It's just another link on the site that I use and wanted to show off.

I voted for exchanging information with others, but really... I use it for double top secret reasons that I'll never disclose.
;)

hml

Gossip definitely, easy way to keep up on what's going on out there!!!  Job search once in awhile and lodging info on occasion.

Of course I have to admit that if I am that point when my brain is fried and doesn't want to function anymore---I find a couple of post by SloGlo....by the time I get done reading them everything else in the world is somehow easier to understand!! There are others who have a high entertainment factor with their postings but SloGlo wins it!

just to get the gossip and see how many of you old timers are still kicking and every once in a while there is even something interesting.

LaFeet

Used to use it just to spin up some oldies here... but with the "PCness" running rampant, I use it to exchange info now.

I do check on jobs, post my resume, and follow outage schedules (although I do get the schedule for free elsewhere).

I do keep in touch via the IM..... miss the email though.

And I will keep coming back, as long as there are you good people to chat with...

davisclay9370

just check it out fom time to time.  used to be in the field a few years back and enjoyed the work and always see stuff and a few people that are still in it with their posts.  sloglo being one of them

Hopefully find some old friends. I'm a Road toad from 84-94.

PAULTHEVOL

Half of the jobs I have worked in the last 7 years have come from the info I received on this site but I also stay in contact with lots of old friends on here.
Nuke worker is also a great venue for debate on about any topic you can think of,and I think most of us feel like a good debate is like exercising our minds and helps us to stay sharp and on top of our games.
I also think that not nearly as often as we should,we do not thank the people on here that work hard at keeping this wonderful tool  up and running.(The site creator, and moderators)Thanks all.(Now just a little Karma my way)---Paul
